Esperance, WA.

Esperance was first discovered in 1792 when (2) french ships (L'Esperance and Recherche) were forced to seek shelter from a storm here.

It is a lovely name for a lovely town...

We would have loved to have spent more time in Esperance but we have a booking on the 'Spirit of Tasmania' which we don't want to be late for! Very exciting...

The beaches were as impressive as they say...beautiful white sand and lovely turquoise water though it was a bit to cold for us Queenslanders to swim in.....

The weather in Esperance can be quite 'unpredictable'. It can be like '4 seasons in one day' according to locals. We found this to be the case the first afternoon we were here, but the second day the weather gods were on our side....

Twilight Beach.
Always looking for those migrating Humpbacks....

Sammy the Sea Lion could be found at the Jetty most days which gave the kids a real thrill ....

Cape Le Grand National Park was certainly worth a visit....

Impressive rocky coastline to explore....

Huge rock mountains to marvel at....

Native flora to admire....

and more white sands and clear blue water to enjoy....

Yet another beautiful, untouched part of Western Australia....

WA has been absolutely wonderful. The well managed National Parks have certainly been a highlight.

It will be so sad to leave....
