Crossing the Nullabor....

There is no doubting it...it is one loooong straight road....

Some people refer to it as the 'Nullaboring'.

We quite enjoyed it.

The weather and the landscape can change quite rapidly. The wind can certainly whip up or change direction quickly and make driving more challenging. Not to much of a drama for our wonderful driver.

We just cruised along at 2000rpm as usual. All for the sake of reputable fuel consumption.

The truck drivers loved us. You can practically hear the conversations on the CB radios.
That's ok though.....

We did all the usual things you do on a long drive....schoolwork, reading, movies, music, quizzes etc.

There was also a little bit of crafty stuff happening...

Mum on the hook...

The kids madly made pompoms to decorate the caravan for Christmas....

We stopped and remembered fallen soldiers on the side of the highway on the 11/11/11 at 11 minutes past 11am.

A visit to the 'Head of Bight' was always on the agenda because the family in 'Are We There Yet'  had visited here.

Things have changed and become safer since Alison Lester did the trip.....stairs and viewing platforms everywhere...

Southern Right Whales migrate here April to October to calf so we were a bit late to see them.  These poor whales were nearly whaled to extinction. The population is apparently recovering well now and they have regained numbers of 2000+ which is great to hear.

We enjoyed another border crossing which is also the site for another golf hole.

It is always great fun crossing a new state border.
More new and exciting adventures ahead of us.....

One foot in WA and one foot in SA...

We enjoyed changing time from Western Australian time to Central Australian time to SA time.
We lost 1 hour and 45 minutes of time.

All in all it went really well.

Frank once again did a marvellous job behind the wheel and got us to SA safe and sound....
